The truck drives onto the platform. Guide rails position it centrally. Hydraulically retractable back stoppers engage behind the rear wheels. Hookchain locks secure the front axle. Then a pair of heavy-duty lift cylinders push the platform upward. The platform tilts. The material slides off the truck bed and into the hopper below. The platform returns to level. The locks release. The truck drives off.
Start to finish, that’s about two and a half to three minutes. At a busy cement plant, this translates to over 200 truck cycles in a single shift.
What to Watch For During the Demo
A live demonstration isn’t just entertainment. It’s your best chance to evaluate build quality and engineering decisions. Here’s what experienced procurement teams pay attention to:
- Platform stability during tilt. Does it move smoothly or does it shudder?
- Cylinder synchronisation. Both cylinders should lift at the same rate.
- Back stopper engagement. Is it fast and firm, or does it hesitate?
- Hookchain tension. Does the front axle lock feel secure at full tilt?
- Return speed. How quickly does the platform come back to level?
- Noise level. Excessive hydraulic noise usually means undersized pumps.
- Oil temperature. Ask to feel the power pack after a few cycles.
