JEHEL’s electro-hydraulic grabs are designed to close completely, hold securely, and release cleanly. At “bauma CONEXPO 2026” in Greater Noida, both the clam shell and orange peel grab families will be on display at Hall 11, Stall K15 for close inspection and technical discussion.
Clam Shell Grab
Two-shell design for bulk materials like coal, iron ore, limestone, gypsum & wood logs. Available in capacities matched to your crane’s safe working load.
Orange Peel Grab
Multi-tine design for scrap metal, demolition debris, municipal waste, and irregularly shaped materials that a clam shell cannot grip effectively.
Electro-Hydraulic Operation
The hydraulic power unit mounted on the grab frame. No external hydraulic lines running from the crane. Powered by electrical supply.
EOT & Mobile Compatible
Both grab types are available for mounting on EOT cranes, gantry cranes, stationary pedestal cranes and mobile cranes.
Material-Specific Shell Design
Shell profiles, edge geometry & closing force are configured based on the material being handled. A coal grab & a limestone grab are not same.

Hydraulic grabs are the link between stored material and active processing. At stockyards, ports, power plants, and steel mills, they lift coal, ore, limestone, scrap, and waste from storage and deliver it to conveyors, hoppers, and furnaces. The grab must match the material, the crane, and the duty cycle. A mismatch in any of the three leads to spillage, slow cycle times, and premature wear.
JEHEL (Jaypee Engineering & Hydraulic Equipment Co. Ltd.) manufactures both clam shell and orange peel grabs at its 1 lac sq. ft. facility in Kolkata. Clam shell grabs are built for bulk materials: coal, iron ore, limestone, gypsum, fly ash, and wood logs. Orange peel grabs handle irregular loads: scrap metal, demolition debris, and mixed waste. Both types use electro-hydraulic operation with a self-contained power unit on the grab frame, eliminating the need for external hydraulic lines from the crane.
At “bauma CONEXPO 2026” in Greater Noida, JEHEL will have its complete grab range at Hall 11, Stall K15. Visitors can inspect shell geometry, tine construction, pivot pin quality, and hydraulic system layout up close. The engineering team will be present to discuss grab sizing based on crane capacity, material density, bucket volume requirements, and expected duty cycles.
